In general, in any emergency closure of Omak High School, parents are asked to listen to the local radio stations, KNCW-FM 92.7; KOMW-AM 680; and KZBE-B 104.3 for information about the closure. The school or District will contact the radio stations with all necessary information, and update it as needed. We ask that parents not call the school or district, since numerous phone calls make emergency communications difficult.
If there is a need for emergency evacuation of Omak High School, these procedures will be followed.
OMAK HIGH SCHOOL EVACUATION PROCEDURES
ALL students are to go to the designated safe location, the OMAK ELKS LODGE. All students are to exit the building to the staff parking lot, and proceed down 1st Ave. to Ash Street and turn right to the front door of the Elks. Teachers will take roll on arrival at that location so that we can have an accurate (as accurate as possible) listing of students present. (We need to be able to let parents know that their students are safe.) Two secretaries, Mrs. Howe and Mrs. Skaarvold will be at the entrance of the Elks to sign students out using the master student roster.
The following students may check out:
1) Any student who has a parental note ON FILE IN THE OFFICE requesting their release to walk directly home or to a parentally approved destination.
2) Students who are 18 and have the note signing permission form ON FILE in the office.
3) Students whose parents/close relatives have come to pick them up
