Monday be sure you have this done:

Collecting the Sun pp 299-301

bulletIQ:  Can you raise the temperature of 250 ml of water more than anyone else in class, using only the sun for heat?
bulletmake prediction w/ reason
READ thru the investigation

after we chat about it a bit, you will:
start building your oven, teams of two
Tuesday finish building ovens
Wednesday EXTRA CREDIT: I need several gallons of water MONDAY from ponds that have fish living in them.  NOT ponds with runoff from orchards or lawn chemicals or heavily used animal pastures/feedlots.  Clean ponds, happy ponds, with happy little critters finding it easy to survive in them because they don't have a contaminant load.  Plants in the ponds are not bad.

Test ovens

on paper, draw simple diagram of what energy is doing in your system.  include:

bulletEnergy inputs (there are at least two)
bulletenergy transformation happening
bulletenergy output
bullethow energy is lost

or if we don't have sun:
