- Grades are posted on wall by student code.
- Students are responsible for watching the grade posting and letting me
know of any mistakes.
- Students are responsible for seeing what they are missing and getting it
turned in.
- If you have a question about your grade I want to discuss it with
you. Pick a time when I am not busy.
- Effort grades are based on being on task, cooperative, and trying
your best.
- When self-assessing (giving yourself a grade) be sure you can
support the grade; if unreasonable I will alter the grade you assign.
Base your grade on:
- effort you give
- amount of time on task
- quality of your work
- make allowances for being absent, this should not count against you
- A+ through F- are
available to you
EXPECTATIONS
- Cooperate with your teacher and other students
- Spend your time working on current assignment
- Assist other students when possible
- Be in your seat, unless you are getting help or helping someone.
DAILY ROUTINE
- first half of period: Type To Learn (TTL)
- your primary goal is 35 wpm w/ five or less mistakes
- you will work thru TTL at least twice before you reach this, probably
- after completing TTL once you may alternate TTL with practice out of the
book
- passing the Typing Test
- 35 wpm <6 mistakes while not looking at the keyboard
- p. 97 in typing book OR another page I assign
- after passing at 35 wpm you may:
- keep practicing typing to speed up
- work on a Ppt
- if you have another application you wish to learn ask me
- occaisionally required to practice some typing to keep your skills
- after passing at 50 wpm you may
- have free time for any school allowed and appropriate use of
computer
- second half of period: Applications
- this will be creating a lot of Powerpoint (ppt) presentations
- various topics will be assigned
- this program has lots to it, as you work on an assignment explore new
parts of the program so your skills improve.
- the topic is important, learning to use the program is more important in
this class
- grades will be based on effectiveness of your presentation, creative use
of program and following directions
